Description

Get facts straight from the natives who witnessed the terrible times during the late 80´s. On this full day tour, go back in time to the places that had the most relevance throughout 44 years of Pablo´s life. Starting from his humble neighborhood growing up, all the way up to the buildings and mansions he accumulated during his life, including his private prison, cemetery, and his final hideout when caught in 1993. Combining both city and rural scenery, this comprehensive tour goes further to include one of the drug lord´s abandoned mansions by the Guatapé Lake.

The maximum participants is 15.

Begin with pick up from your private bilingual driver will before embarking on an all-inclusive journey by car with AC. First stop takes place at Pablo´s modest community growing up, ironically called “La Paz” or peace in Spanish. Discover how he came up and the luxurious properties he built around the city in order to launder his millions. Walk around his semi-destroyed Monaco building where the first car-bomb in Colombia took place in the late 80´s.

After visiting Pablo´s prison or the 'Cathedral', get a spectacular Medellin view and head to a private cemetery where siblings and cousins of the mafia boss rest. Lying nearby is Griselda Blanco or “black widow”, who was once Pablo´s mentor. Head near the soccer stadium to visualize the modest home and rooftop where Pablo was finally caught barefoot.

Head east for about one hour to see Pablo´s abandoned mansion “La Manuela” from the top of the El Peñol rock, which reaches almost 70 stories high. Just a mile away, head to the cozy Guatape village where you can enjoy lunch at your own expense. This is a perfect place to walk around the square and discover why this colorful village has been named “Town of Zocalos”, referring to the facade throughout the village. There will be enough free time to walk around for photos and facilities to use the bathroom or grab snacks. Not every store takes credit cards so it is recommended to bring cash and/or Colombian pesos.

Finally, take a private boat to Pablo´s abandoned mansion, where you can walk around and take photos of what is left after years of curious visitors tearing down walls and cabinets. After approximately 10 hours, head back to the city with first hand knowledge regarding Pablo´s biography and what it represents today for Colombia and the world.
